The huge 1956 Fats Domino hit Blueberry Hill emerged over a decade earlier sung by Gene Autrey in the 1941 film “The Singing Hill.”

That’s Amore, the 1953 hit debuted by Dean Martin in “The Caddy” with Jerry Lewis was featured prominently in several other more recent films.

Irving Berlin’s Blue Skies was one of the first songs to be featured in a talkie, when Al Jolson performed it in “The Jazz Singer.” It was later featured in the Bing Crosby film “White Christmas.”

So many songs, after hitting the pop charts, were later highlighted in movies. Some examples: Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny and We’ll Meet Again by Vera Lynn.
